Remember, I’m in favor of consumption taxes. Like taxing tobacco and other vices.

Ok. Why? Is it only because these are things that you do not use much? What is your rationale for likeing consumption taxes?

for similar reasons why I like the FairTax; it’s based on voluntary compliance. Just like I’m in favor of the gas-tax because the money is to go towards roads (and not really in favor of this “gas tax holiday” thing that is being proposed).
Similarly, taxing items that are unhealthy to fund medical stuff makes sense.
Is that reasonable?
